The American
Academy of Neurology has updated its 1997 practice guidelines regarding sports
concussion. The guideline offers recommendations in 3 categories: “1)
preparticipation counseling recommendations; 2) recommendations related to
assessment, diagnosis, and management of suspected concussion; and 3)
recommendations for management of diagnosed concussion (including acute
management, RTP, and retirement).
